Cuba Kids Foundation
Cuba Kids Foundation
The Cuba Kids Foundation is an organisation that was set up on our return from Cuba in 2007. We are two London based lawyers who are raising money in order to help provide supplies to school children, orphanages and hospitals throughout Cuba, but in particular in the region of Sancti Spiritus.
From our previous visits, and after meeting local families, we have discovered that there is a real gap in children’s educational and health needs. Last time, we took several items of children’s and adult clothing, toys and stationery over to Trinidad (a town in the south of Cuba). These were then distributed to a number of families, a maternity clinic and a school in the town. We realised from this visit, how much more we could do to help and decided to set up a charitable trust to raise money for the children of Cuba.
We are only at the start of what we hope will bring awareness to a very worthwhile and valuable cause and are in the process of registering the charity with the Charity Commission, but do not yet have a registered number. Once we have reached our initial fundraising target of £5,000 we expect the process to take a few months.
We will update this site as things progress with our blog and welcome your ideas and suggestions as we start to organise fundraising events. Watch this space!
